Signature Cocktails

The basics include a dress, a cake, some flowers and some music. Throw in a groom and a preacher, and you’ve got yourself a wedding. However, while modern brides may share the basics, the look, the experience, the wedding…are all about personal reflection. A great way to put your own spin on the wedding (and help control the costs at the bar) is to plan for a signature cocktail. Consider one of these ideas for your own wedding!

Cranberry Kiss

A passionate shade of red adds to the sweet tartness of this cocktail.

  • ¾ oz Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
  • 2 oz Collins mix
  • 2 oz cranberry juice
  • lemon wedge

Pour all ingredients over ice, and stir.

Blueberry Mojitos

Bring a little “something blue” to your cocktail hour.

  • 2 oz white rum
  • ¾ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ½ oz cane syrup or simple syrup
  • mint leaves
  • blueberries

Press mint leaves into the cane syrup (or simple syrup). Add blueberries, rum and lime juice. Stir well. Pour over ice, and top with blueberries.

Blushing Kiss

The perfect shade of pink gives this drink a touch of elegance.

  • 2 parts gin
  • 1 part St. Germain
  • 1 part grapefruit juice
  • grapefruit wedge
  • 1 sprig of thyme

Shake gin, St. Germain and grapefruit juice with ice, and pour through a strainer into a chilled martini glass. Add a wedge of grapefruit and thyme.

Baileys Chocolatini

When your love for him is rivaled only by your love for chocolate…

Pour Baileys, Smirnoff and chocolate liqueur over ice. Shake, and strain into a martini glass.

You may be thinking, “You said something about controlling costs at the bar…can you elaborate?” Sure thing! Limiting your bar options to beer, wine and one or two signature cocktails for the night eliminates the need for lots of expensive liquors and the cost of a full bar!
