It feels so good to be back! For the first time in FW Engaged history, we had to pause from printing a standalone issue this past fall. A tough decision, but no doubt the right one for our team.
We published the premiere issue of FW Engaged TEN years ago. I was in college at the time, but I vividly remember assisting with the staged cover photo shoot at WinMock back in 2011. I even got to dress up as a bridesmaid and be in some of the photos! Flipping through this premier issue was funny – oh how trends have changed! But, you know what continues to stay the same? The happiness you see in the eyes of the couples that we feature. 50 years ago, and 50 years from now, planning a wedding will always be an exciting time for couples! We are grateful that we get to be part of your planning process.
As always, this issue is chock full of local wedding inspiration. From the gorgeous wedding cakes that Brittany makes at The Humble Bee Shoppe to the beyond fabulous signature cocktails that Thirsty Buffalo can put together for you, this issue has a little bit of everything. You can see the “love list” on the last page of this issue that has contact info. for each of our amazing advertising partners. This magazine is made possible – and is free to pick up – because of their support. Please let them know you saw them in FW Engaged when you contact them!
We’ve featured three gorgeous real weddings in this issue– Zainub + Farris, Sarah + Andrew and Allison + Justin. Be sure to check out the list of each of the vendors that made these gorgeous weddings possible. I feel like a broken record when I say this, but I am continually blown away with the talent that we have right here in Winston-Salem. There are so many local and incredible wedding vendors ready to jump in and help you plan one of the best days of your life.
In addition to real weddings, we love featuring recently engaged and recently married couples! I wouldn’t be surprised if you see a couple or two that you know! If YOU are recently engaged or recently married and reading this…be sure to submit your photo! We’ll get you in our next issue. Email a high-resolution image to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include first and last names of the couple, wedding date and photographer name.
Congratulations on your engagement! Soak in every second of it!
All my best,
