Located on the outskirts of Winston-Salem, Legacy Stables and Events is a romantic wedding venue, complete with multiple rustic chic settings. According to Marketing and Events Specialist Erin Nettles, the venue isn’t just for horse-lovers, although horses are part of the venue, and it is the perfect place to start your legacy of memories.
“The venue is the first thing a bride decides on and books,” said Nettles. “At Legacy Stables and Events, our job is to take our venues and turn them into the bride’s vision. We have three options for weddings – the Georgian-style house, the outdoor arena and the show barn. The Georgian-style house is a great place for smaller, more intimate weddings that are about 75 or fewer guests. The house also has a front pasture for outdoor weddings. For the outdoor arena, it is an open space that will seat up to 600, and the show barn is one of the largest venues in Winston-Salem and seats more than 600.”
All three areas are able to host ceremonies and receptions. According to Nettles, brides and grooms can purchase their space to use for up to 10 hours. These hours also include accommodations for the wedding party to get ready for the big day and time for pictures.
“The upstairs of the Georgian house includes a bridal suite that can fit up to 15 bridesmaids,” said Nettles. “In the suite, there is a bar-top vanity and rooms to get dressed. We also have a space just for the guys in the groom’s suite. In that area, there is a pool table, foosball table and kitchen.”
The team at Legacy Stables and Events is well equipped to make sure a couple’s special day is just as they imagined. Nettles states that at every wedding, there is a team of nine to 12 people, assisting guests and making the transition of the ceremony to the reception, and everything else, run smoothly.
All the necessities of the day are determined by the wedding package, purchased by the couple. Packages include tables, chairs and linens for up to 150 guests. Also, Legacy Stables and Events provides suggested caterer and rental lists.
“Our mission is to help brides know their vision is affordable,” said Nettles. “The buildings aren’t just barns but are the bride’s dreams that we built beside her, as well.”
For the past three years, becoming a wedding venue has been a vision for Legacy Stables and Events. Nettles and her colleagues have scouted out what works for venues and what doesn’t through attending various bridal shows. Once construction got started, things fell into place in just three short weeks, and the venue hosted its first wedding on Saturday, April 7th.
“It is very exciting to get started; it has seemed like forever,” said Nettles. “We handpicked everything to provide the best of the best for our brides and grooms. Other venues can’t hold events on a grand scale like we can; our size is what sets us apart. We are a working horse farm, but our weddings aren’t just country weddings. Brides can pose with horses, but we put a classy spin on weddings and events. Everything is crisp and ready to go.”
For brides booking their wedding at Legacy Stables and Events, book as soon as possible. According to Nettles, weddings are already booking into 2019, but dates are still available in 2018. All weekends, except holidays, are open to host weddings. If necessary, the venue can accommodate a weekday wedding or event.
“The venue is the core of where the wedding will take place,” said Nettles. “The date, setting and timeframe is based around it. There is nothing like seeing the faces of a bride and groom when they see their space decorated for the first time and see their vision turned into a reality.”
