Wedding planning can equally be one of the happiest and one of the most stressful times in our adult lives. Towards the end of it all, however, we are awarded with a lovely bridal shower that will suit our needs. But, let’s say you don’t want to be too conventional…you may have interests and visions that don’t align with what you’ve always seen from other people. That’s okay! Your wedding should exalt your true self and so should your bridal shower. Here are some creative bridal shower ideas to help you create something that will completely stand out and help you stay true to yourself.
An elegant tea. This is ideal for the classy, sophisticated bride. Scope out your local tea houses and look into reserving space for bridal shower events. Having a bridal tea will give you and your bridesmaids a calming, but refreshing experience right before your big day. This is a wonderful time to bond and de-stress with your bridesmaids, mother and flower girl (if you have one).
A spa day.Another day of relaxation with your bridesmaids. This is the perfect opportunity for you, your bridesmaids and invited guests to get massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, and perhaps even some yoga and aromatherapy right before the ceremony. You may plan this event the week of your ceremony to make sure your digits are freshly done, your skin is glowing and your muscles are as relaxed as they can be before you walk down the aisle.
A paint-and-sip event.Do you have an affinity for art or painting? Going to a paint-and-sip class will serve you and your ladies well. Check to see what is near you that offers painting classes where you can “bring your own bottle.” Not many brides choose this activity for a bridal shower which makes it a special way to celebrate. Going to a local art show is also another creative alternative.
A community service/charity event. It’s okay to not want to be the center of attention at your own bridal shower. You can make this your time to give back to your community or donate to your favorite charity. Your bridesmaids and guests can get together and donate money or tangible items, so you can give to your foundation or charity of choice. If this is your style, see if you can link your favorite charity to your gift registry.
A mini ladies’ getaway…or “citycation.”If you want to get away from the mundane for a day or two, you can do a destination bridal shower or something as simple as traveling to a different city. A change in venue will be very relaxing and stimulating for everyone. Stay aware of travel prices, budget, budget, budget and plan ahead.
So, those were some anomalistic ideas to get you started! Feel free and go as creative as you want because there are no limits to how far you can go to express yourself as a bride. Give yourself something exciting to look forward to after all the bustle of wedding planning.
